Mercies in Disguise

2011 was a year where we often joked "we can't wait for it to be over!" And yet, as the year came to an end and a new one began, we couldn't help but look back on it and be so grateful for all that the Lord entrusted to us, and for the ways he grew us through trials and hardships.

This page is a compilation of posts throughout the year covering our experience through losing our first baby and continuing with our current battle of my Dad's fight with cancer.

While none of these experiences have been easy and we certainly would never want to relive them, we are so grateful for the Lord's mercy in giving us strength to overcome it all.

Appropriately enough, there was a song that came out this year by a Christian artist named Laura Story that really touched each of our hearts. The chorus especially holds great significance to us after this year. She writes,

Cause what if Your blessings come through raindrops
What if Your healing comes through tears
What if a thousand sleepless nights
Are what it takes to know You’re near
What if trials of this life are Your mercies in disguise

And so, I have titled this page "Mercies in Disguise" because no matter what may come our way, we know that God is good, and that He is faithful, and that He is for us not against us. So when trials come into our lives, we can take heart, knowing there is a greater purpose in it all.

Whatever your circumstances in life, I pray that you experience God's goodness and faithfulness, and that hopefully, through the trials we have endured, you can find hope and encouragement to overcome any trial--great or small--that you face.

God bless and peace to you!
